Callie Heath brings it home in the girls 4x200

Look out for Callie Heath and the Colome relays
Mar 29, 2017

By Rich Winter

Man, looking through the Gregory field and track results, can't help but get caught looking at the Colome girls winning the 4x200 with a time of 1:53.81. First meet of the year, girls not close to being in track shape yet, and that time is just so, so fast.

So fast in fact that second place was about five seconds back with Bon Homme running a 1:58.

So fast for this early in the year.

The second time from Colome that really caught my attention was that of Callie Heath in the 400 meters. Heath finished second to Todd County standout, Caelyn Valandra-Prue, but ran an incredibly fast time of 63.11.

Heath made the podium a year ago in her specialty and based off Monday's perfomance she should be a serious candidate to slip under 60 seconds.

While the Colome girls finished 4th in the team race, 77 points, there were some good performances all over the track.

100 meters:

Saydee Heath - 2nd - 13.63

Hayley Krumpus - 4th - 13.86

200 meters:

Callie Heath - 3rd - 28.23

Saydee Heath - 4th - 28.82

Matrix Noteboom - 6th - 30.12

Jaclyn Laprath was just outside of placing in the 800 meters and placed in the 1600 and 3200.

100 hurdles:

Kaydee Heath - 2nd - 18.09

300 hurdles:

Kaydee Heath - 2nd - 54

Long jump:

Saydee Heath - 5th - 14'1"

Triple jump:

Haylee Krumpus - 1st - 32'5"

Nice opening meet for Colome as you see a bunch of points all over the track. While you might see a 4x100 or 4x400 in there as the season progresses, make no mistake about it, that 4x200 team looks special.

Nice showing from the Colome guys also...Little bird told me a bunch of sophomores showed up and went out for the sport....More on the Cowboys later.
