Platte-Geddes played well against a good MHH squad

STARR and P/G defense shine in loss to MHH
Sep 23, 2017

By Rich Winter
One of the more surpising scores and games played on liveticket.tv last night was the Platte-Geddes at No. 4 9AA school, Miller/Highmore-Harrold. Playing up a class the Black Panthers hung right there and were it not for two fumble returns for TD's from the MHH defense, this could have been an entirely different ballgame.
One thing was clear from watching some of the broadcast last night was P/G came to play.
Check out the big time kick-return for a TD from P/G sophomore Kade Starr. Right after MHH scored to go up 6-0, Starr answered with an 87-yard kick return for a TD.
And P/G hung right there with an explosive MHH squad.
MHH's Karst Hunter scored a 2nd-quarter TD and afer the conversion was good, MHH led it 14-6 at half.
Well, third quarter, Starr scored on a 13-yard run. The conversion failed and yet, P/G trailed jut 14-12.
MHH scored two more TD's in the third quarter, another on a fumble return for a TD for the final margin.
Like how P/G came out and competed last night and even though they have Gregory this week, look for some wins to start piling up soon.
