SCOTTIES break into Class B volleyball POLL Sep 26, 2017
By Rich Winter
Have always felt like the South Dakota media, which mostly resides in eastern South Dakota, takes a while to start paying attention to some of the schools out in west river. Well, the polls finally noticed the Lady Scotties of Philip who moved into the poll despite losing their first match of the year.
It is a big deal when Philip makes the leap into what looks like an elite B field assembling for post-season play here in a few weeks.
CLASS B
Northwestern (21) 18-1 105 1
Warner 17-3 79 2
Hanson 16-1 65 3
Chester Area 11-4 28 4
Philip 15-1 27 5
Receiving Votes: Ethan (13-3) 6, Andes Central/Dakota Christian (13-2) 3, Herreid/Selby Area (14-1) 2
Now, back to Philip, the Lady Scotties lost in the championship match to a AA school, Spearfish.
Scores from the tourney - GOOD STUFF!
