Sep 13, 2017

After losing to No. 1 Class B Northwestern and Arlington at the Parkston tournamnet, Amy Tyler's Wagner Red Raiders have been tearing up volleyball teams in south-eastern South Dakota.

Three straight 3-set sweeps over Chamberlain, Platte-Geddes and Gregory led to Tuesday night's regional matchup with a good Class B team, Avon, in Avon.

And right away the Red Raiders ran into some adversity, losing the first set, 19-25.

From there it was all Wagner as the ladies dominated the final 3-sets, 25-17, 25-16 and 25-20.

Freshman Abby Brunsing continues to compete at a high level, leading Wagner with 16 kills. Junior Fith Tyler continued her all-around play with 14 kills, ten digs and two aces.

And the Juffer's, well, they were the Juffers. The pair combined for 31 digs while Sierra Juffer directed traffic, hading out 36 assists.

Big night for Wagner volleyball as the JV and freshman squads also won.

Big week of volleyball still to go for Tyler's crew as they travel to Sioux Falls to take on No. 2 Sioux Falls Christian. And then, the weekend to be spend at the always tough Bon Homme tournament in Tyndall.
