Red-HOT KWL Wildcats to tangle with NO. 2 Bon Homme - OOOOOOOHHHH
Oct 20, 2017

By Rich Winter

Back on Sep. 8, Dale Taylor's Kimball/White-Lake Wildkats lost to No. 2 Bon Homme in Tyndall by a score of 22-14. Pretty good result some woudl surmise, but for Kimball/White Lake it was just one more nail in the coffin on their way to an 0-4 start.

Early on KWL lost to Gregory, Miller/Highmore-Harold, Parkston and then Bon Homme....MURDERERS ROW!

That was then and this is now...

Since then, KWL beat Wolsey/Wessington, the team that knocked off No. 1 Region 1 seed (North Border, as predicted by the Panic Button yesterday). The Wildkats destroyed Ipswich/Edmunds Central, Platte-Geddes and Lyman.

In their playoff opener, Taylor's crew lit up Rapid City Christian and advanced to the quarterfinals (Bon Homme) with a 54-0 rout of RCC.

Big Numbers:

* Jason Nockels 128 yards, 2 TD's

* Chandler and Carter Frederickson combined for 3 TD's

*  KWL outgained RCC 302-49

* KWL intercepted 6 RCC passes

* Kordel Kiehn 8 tackles (sack), Javen Holan eight tackles, Chander Frederickson 2 interceptions.

Scoring Summary:

First quarter

KWL: Jackson Nockels 11 run (Chandler Fredericksen run)

Second quarter

KWL: Chandler Fredericksen 10 run (Dylan Mohnen run)

KWL: Carter Fredericksen 18 run (Chandler Fredericksen pass from Mohnen)

KWL: Justin Becker 35 pass from Mohnen (Jamie Houser run)

KWL: Nockels 44 run (Layne Heath run)

KWL: Carter Fredericksen 56 run (Kory Peters run)

But, looming on the other side of the bracket is No. 2 seed Bon Homme....AGAIN!

Bon Homme, 7-2 just pounded Deuel last night, 50-0 in a game that only went to halftime.

Big Numbers:

* Bryce Scieszinski - 8-13 for 121 yards, 2 TD's (both of those TD's to Joey Slama)

* Slama 2 receiving TD's, 91 yards rec, 50 rushing yards, 1 TD

* Stingy Defense - Colin Adams and Kaleb Crownover returned interceptions for TD's

Scoring summary

First quarter

BH: Bryce Scieszinski 3 run (Josh Crownover kick)

BH: Scieszinski 3 run (Josh Crownover kick)

BH: Joey Slama 22 pass from Scieszinski (conversion failed)

Second quarter

BH: Slama 22 pass from Scieszinski (Josh Crownover pass from Scieszinski)

BH: Colin Adams 50 interception return (Slama pass from Scieszinski)

BH: Kaleb Crownover 45 interception return (Josh Crownover kick)

BH: Slama 10 run (Josh Crownover kick)

With undefeated Hamlin absolutely getting spanked out of the AA tourney by Garretson, 34-6 the bottom half of that 9AA bracket is wide open.

KWL/Bon Homme, Irene-Wakonda, Garretson...someone is going to the DOME....

Fired up already!!
