Nolz brings the HEAT

Man, Brady Nolz must have been on FIRE Saturday, as the Parkston Mudcat pitcher mowed down 16 Plankinton Bankers, via the strikeout, during the Mudcats 2-0 win on Saturday.

 

Nolz helped the cause with an RBI, while Ty Kinneberg and Jake Weber each had a hit and a run scored.

PLANKINTON — Brady Nolz racked up 16 strikeouts and held Plankinton to four hits as the Parkston Mudcats blanked the Bankers 2-0 in amateur baseball action on Friday in Plankinton.

For Plankinton, Travis Gant took the loss, allowing two runs, one earned, on six hits with seven strikeouts and three walks in nine innings pitched. Billy Hamilton had a double, while Gant added two hits for the Bankers.

Parkston (6-1) plays the Wagner Rockets on Sunday in Wagner, while Plankinton (3-3) plays South Central on May 21 in Plankinton.

Mount Vernon 7, Four Corners 4

MOUNT VERNON—Mount Vernon jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and cruised to a 7-4 win over Four Corners in amateur baseball action on Friday in Mount Vernon.

Chase Hetland went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, while Zac Custer added a home run for the Mustangs. On the mound, Cameron Deinert earned the win, allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits with three strikeouts in four innings pitched. Owen London, Jake Steffen and Matt Larson each tossed at least an inning in relief.

Four Corners finished the game with five hits and left 17 runners on base in the loss.

Mount Vernon (3-0) plays Alexandria on Sunday in Alexandria.
