Lower Brule crushed Crazy Horse to get the season off to a flying start

Lower Brule sets the tone with impressive win over Crazy Horse
Aug 20, 2017

By Rich Winter

One of the scores that really startled me from the opening week of the high school football season was that of Lower Brule just crushing Crazy Horse, 66-14.

While I can't find stats or a box score, working on that, this is a terrific start for coach Zeke Prado and company. Lower Brule made some noise with a good solid track team a year ago and you might be starting to see some of the benefits of that track work coming into play for the football team.

Interesting little schedule here for the next few weeks.

The Sioux host Standing Rock this week and then face Iroquois who is just getting their football program back on track.

Get through those first three and Prado and company could be headed for a much improved year.

Schedule stiffens after the midway point and there are some salty opponents on the schedule including Bon Homme, Potter County, a Hill City squad that thumped Newell this weekend and a Parkston team that lost to No. 3 Bon Homme, 6-0 in the season opener.

Looking for stats and pictures for the guys but a terrific start as the Sioux move to 1-0 on the season.
