Keep an eye on Bennett County YOUNG GUNZ
Sep 27, 2017
By Rich Winter
Well, the results are in and so are the photos from Kernit Grimshaw so time to dive into some cross country from yesterday's Todd County Invitational.
One of the teams I've been keeping an eye on is the Bennett County girls. Not really a great cross-country tradition over in Martin but Rod Anderson has a nice group of youngsters that are continuing to turn in some impressive performances.
And oh man are these Lady Warriors young.
Taylor Byerley 7th
Kaitlyn Dubray 8th
Eden Fanning 8th
Yesenia Martinez 8th
Haley Mooney 8th
Hannah Risse 7th
Stefonna Salomon 8th
Not a single member of the team in high school yet, and already these young ladies are starting to be a force to be reckoned with.
Results Todd County Invite
8th - Taylor Byerly - BCHS - 21:47...Right there in the mix with a pretty competitive field. Certainly a state qualifier this year, needs to get that time down by about a minute to think about the top-25 or podium at the state meet.
22nd - Kaitlyn DuBray - 23:37
30th - Stefonna Saloman - 24: 49
Might be a stretch to think the team could qualify for state, but there are a few injured runners just on the brink of returning, so, wait, watch and see.
