It was a good weekend to be a WILDKAT

Alright so early Saturday morning one of the first things I looked to see was the score of the Kimball/White Lake vs. Wolsey Wessington game. After coming through murderers row, Gregory, Miller/Highmore-Harrold, Parkston and BON HOMME, Dale Taylor's crew had a bye week to get over being 0-4 and get on with beating Wolsey-Wessington.
Kimball/White-Lake 16 - 14 over Wolsey Wessington!!
That must have been something...Trailing 16-8, Wolsey-Wessington scored on a Lyndon Williams 9-yard run. Needing two, the Warbirds went for two and the WildKat defense said no thanks.
* Kenzy LeBeau - 17 tackles
* Chandler Fredericksen 6-61 receiving, 10 tackles and a PIC
Lot of big plays around, here is the scoring summary.
Second quarter
KWL: Chandler Fredericksen 23 pass from Dylan Mohen (Justin Becker from Mohnen)
Third quarter
WW: Lynden Williams 8 run (Devante Luellman pass from Skylar Zomer)
KWL: Kory Peters 10 run (Kezery LeBeau run)
Fourth quarter
WW: Lyndon Williams 9 run (conversion failed)
Clearly KWL is the 2nd best team in Region 4 behind Gregory. Have to keep winning but this is a battle tested squad that just got a shot of confidence!!
Volleyball tournament:
Boy checking out the Region 6B that region is getting really tight at the top with AC/DC and BSC right there at the top
Region 6Seed PointsW-L
Andes Central/Dakota Christian 44.4013-2
Burke/South Central 44.1913-3
Kimball/White Lake 44.0712-2
Some monstrous matches coming up in a few weeks as these three powers tangle down the stretch for region positioning.
But, KWL sent a message this weekend when they won their own invitational. In the final, the WildKats defeated Burke/South Central 2-0 by scores of 25-23 and 25-19.
BSC is TUFF and battled tested and so that tournament win is a big one for Sarah Deffenbaugh's kids.
Vs. BSC in championship game.
* Sara Kunnari and Sage Pulse 7 kills one block
* Darby Deffenbaugh 16 digs, 6 kills 1 block
* Heather Munsen 20 assists 5 digs.
