Adam Hutmacher and Brennan Swanson competed in the national bass-fishing tournament in Tennessee

Hutmacher and Swanson compete at Bass Fishing NATIONALS
Jun 29, 2017

Alright so some pretty cool stories pop into the Panic Button's periphery on occasion. Couple weeks ago I got one of those messages from Chamberlain's Laura Halverson Hutmacher telling me about nephew Adam Hutmacher and Brennan Swanson, both students from Chamberlain high school who were getting ready to compete in the National Bass Fishing tournament.

Alright, so there are a couple of pretty cool things about this story...

1. How many kids from South Dakota get to FISH at a national tournament?

2. Believe this is the fifth consecutive time Hutmacher has made the national tournament while this is the third consecutive trip to nationals for Swanson.

The guys from Chamberlain qualified for the nationals by winning the state tournament held at a lake near Kennebec in late May. (Home cooking).

At the national tournament the guys finished 94th out of 225 teams with a weight total of 22 lbs. 11 oz.

Just think it is very cool for some South Dakota youth to participate in something they obviously love to do and are good at.

Note - If you have any big-bass pictures with kids I'd love to see them...send me an email to richwinter85@gmail.com
