Monster week of sports for Hitchcock-Tulare

Hitchcock-Tulare has MONSTROUS debut on LIVETICKET
Oct 17, 2017

By Rich Winter

Later this evening, the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots will be webcasting their game with Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, and oh baby, it is a big one. If you aren't going to the match, you can watch it on the internet at http://httv.live

Huge volleyball matchup in Hitchcock tonight

Really excited to get a look at Jordan Opp's Patriots tonight. The senior laden crew of Ally Binger, Baylee Enander, Bailey Cole, Camryn Binger and Ashlyn Otto play their second-to-last reguar season match of the year.

Nice little cross-region match between a 14-8 Sanborn Central/Woonsocket squad and an 11-12 Hitchcock-Tulare team. Opp's Patriots come in, winning seven of their last eight matches, with the only blemish coming to a 16-4 Class A Groton team. This is going to be a good one and I cannot wait to get a live look at this crew to see how they play.

Region 3 is exceptionally tight at the moment, and losing a match tonight could take the Patriots from No. 3 in the region all the way down to No. 6....BIG time match tonight

Region 3Seed PointsW-L
Arlington 44.26 19-8
Deubrook Area 43.93 20-7

Football team slips into playoffs:

Boy, must have been a nervous bye week for Clint Nelson's crew who had to feel good, but nervous, after slipping by Northwestern 8-7 the previous week. Looming in the first round for the Patriots is a TUFF Sully Buttes squad. A bye week should help the Patriots be at full strength. Sully Buttes is TUFF, but, what an accomplishment for the six seniors to make the playoffs, AND, what an opportunity for junior QB, Grant Hamilton and the rest of the Patriot underclassmen to get a sniff of the playoffs.

Cross-country results:

While Sara McNeil's crew won't be sending a team to the state cross country meet in Rapid City this weekend, the future looks very bright with a bunch of young GUNZ on the boys team.

Region 1B results:

23rd - Logan Gilbert - 19:31 - Only a sophomore, Gilbert needed to be about 12 seconds faster to crack the top-20 and make it to state.

45th - Cullen McNeil - 21:50 (ninth grader)

48th - Titus Waldner - 22:15 (10th grader)

50th - Zack Gilbert - 22:23 (8th-grader)

With some work this group should be contending for a state team birth next season

Girls results:

30th - Ally Binger - 26:01 - How about the senior pulling double duty in cross-country and volleyball?

Welcome to the TICKET and PANIC BUTTON Patriot fans...looking forward to getting to know ya!!
