Hard work paying off for Winner's Jaclyn Laprath
Sep 6, 2017
By Rich Winter
Pretty fired up to finally see the cross-country results from Scotland that were posted on the Chamberlain high-school website. I heard through the grapevine by last nigh that Sidda Schulyer won the race and that both the Winner girls won the team title and the boys got up for second.
One of the results that really popped off the page for me was the 4th place effort of Jaclyn Laprath. Now, keep in mind that the three girls that finished in front of her were all in the top-25 at the state meet a year ago.
I personally hearken back to the American Legion state baseball tournament in Winner back in August. If people remember, the temperature during that tournament was well over 100 degrees. Several days during that tournament, late in the afternoon but still 100 or more degrees out, there was Jaclyn Laprath out for an afternoon jog. Pretty obvious that Laprath has taken her talents next level but putting in WORK! This is good stuff for Jayd Schuyler's crew as the junior, Laprath is up there pushing Sidda Schuyler who earned the win and broke 20-minutes for the 5k for the first time this year.
