Good things going on in WAGNER...Red Raiders red hot heading into SESD tourney Oct 18, 2017
By Rich Winter
Don't know the whole story behind the picture associated with this story, BUT, guessing the kids and school in Wagner got off their butts this fall and raised $6207 for cancer in Wagner. Of course October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and from first appearances, it looks like the Wagner community took the C word and did something about it.
Wagner sweeps Winner:
For some reason, mentally, I hear the words "SESD volleyball tournamnet in Winner this Saturday" and my mind goes to so-so tournament...Then, I start taking inventory on who is going to be playing in this TOURNAMENT and reality grabs me - "Dear Barbara, we are going to THROW DOWN at a TUFF SESD tournament."
A couple of teams that figure to be in contention at Saturday's tourney are Winner and Wagner, and the pair hooked up on a Tuesday night special, in Wagner. All Wagner as Amy Tyler's crew swept a good Winner team.
Wagner BIG NUMBERS:
* Faith Tyler 14 kills, 20 digs
* Kirstyn Roth - 3 aces
* Abby Brunsing - 12 kills
* Schylar Juffer 21 digs
* Sierra Jugger 14 digs, 37 ASSISTS
Wagner (16-7) and Winner (15-7) both play in the SESD tournament on Saturday in Winner.
Wagner comes into the SESD tournament, winners of 7-9. Lost to a good Chester team, lost a 4-setter to an improving Parkston squad.

Wagner is currently the No. 3 seed in Region 5, but it is getting tight and McCook Central/Montrose is catchable.
