To the disappointment of the fans, the 2015 state champ did not compete.
So this raises many questions like how bad is she hurt? How long will she sit out?
Byers said she is battling 'extreme fatigue' when she's running.
I talked with her and she will take some time off, althoguh she doesn't know when she will be better.
The last time the track & field/cross-country world got a look at Byers was at the state track meet last spring, where she placed 5th in the 1600, 8th in the 3200 and 3rd in the 800 (2:15)
"I really want to get back out there and compete after a disappointing end to last year," Byers aaid.
Byers hopes to get back out there with her teammates as soon as possible.
"It's hard to have to sit on the sidelines, but sometimes a full recovery is more important in the long run."
