Crazy Horse & The TRIBE ADVANCE at Big Dave's softball tourney
Jul 1, 2017

By Rich Winter

Crazy Horse and the HIT SQUAD were sailing along in an ultra-competitive softball game over in Rosebud this afternoon. Big Dave's 4th of July tournament found the two squads tied 4-4 until the top of the fifth inning.

The Big boys from Crazy Horse used some big hits, a couple of timely/untimely errors from the Hit Squad's outfield (Depends on which side of Okreek you reside in) and uncorked six runs in what had been a hugely competitive game.

From there is was smooth sailing as the Hit Squad couldn't get any closer and Crazy Horse cruised to the win to advance in the double-elimination tournament.

And then...

The Tribe, which I think is built around folks from the Winner/Ideal aread got busy. After shutting down the Replacements in the top of the first, THE TRIBE got it going, manufacturing five runs in the bottom of the first to get out of the gates quickly.

One of those plays really caught my attention. The Tribe's 3rd-baseman, fairly big guy is caught between first and second. It's a quick run-down and the second baseman looks like he has him dead to rights...Nope, quick little burst and the Tribe's clean-up hitter got back to first to keep the rally alive.

Donovan Brother Of All drew a walk to get things going. Calvin, who pitches for the team, got on, and from there it was batters galore as the Tribe got off to a quick start.

Big Dave's fast-pitch tournament continues through Sunday and is a double-elimination tournament. Panic Button heading over to Rosebud in a minute to take in the action.
