Jazz Dominuez lit up Wagner with 6 TD passes

Can an EXPLOSIVE Chamberlain aerial attack take down Groton
Sep 12, 2017

By Rich Winter

As we head into the heart of the football season this weekend, one of the games I'm keeping my eyes on is the Chamberlain Cubs traveling to take on the 2016 11B runner-ups, the Groton Tigers.

While Chamberlain looked EXPLOSIVE GALORE last week, in the 56-0 win over Wagner, I think the media and a lot of people around the state kind of forgot about the Cubs after that 40-27 season opening loss to Canton. Well, Canton destroyed Aberdeen Roncalli and then lost 36-12 to the No. 1 team in 11B, Sioux Falls Christian....the C-Hawks are good. From a coaches perspective, I'm guessing Cubs head-coach Dan Olson didn't mind the loss. Kind of a weird game with the rain-delay against Canton, and then had to come back the next day. At any rate, see some problem areas, work on them, and get better.

Groton is 2-2 on the season, but, the Tigers have won two in a row including 15-0 over Sisseton and 15-14 over Beresford. Ya gotta admire the Cubs for upping their strength of schedule this season...But, if you want to hang with the big boys, you've got to be able to go on the road and win games like the one on Friday in Groton.

Saw the stats from the 56-0 win over Wagner, and Groton had better be ready for the assault that Jazz Dominguez and the Cubs skill guys are going to throw at them.

Look at the scoring summary from the Wagner game.

Scoring summary

First Quarter

C: Marc Schwenk 45 pass from Jass Dominguez (Isaac Hawk kick)

C: Jake Mutziger 65 pass from Dominguez (Max Donovan kick)

C: 31 pass from Dominguez (Kick fail)

Second Quarter

C: Jett Evans 35 run (Hawk kick)

C: Schwenk 9 pass from Dominguez (Kick fail)

C: Evans 84 pass from Dominguez (Kick fail)

C: Schwenk 21 pass from Dominguez (Donavon kick)

Third Quarter

C: Collin Powell 35 run (Kick fail)

That is a whole lot of TD passes, 6 and 351 yards passing, oh, and 166 yards rushing for Chamberlain.

Remington Rossow nine tackles, Nash Hutmacher 7 tackles.

Three tough games in a row here for Chamberlain...By Sep. 29 vs. Winner, we will know exactly what these Cubs are made of.
