Platte-Geddes Black Panthers football team is looking to have a better season than the past few years. However, it will not be easy with the schedule they have. First, the Black Panthers open up the season with a bye week, which will give them more time to prepare for a stellar team in Potter County (8-0 regular 2016 regular season record).
Platte-Geddes lost just five starters to graduation so a lot of the starterrs this year have that all-important experience coming back.
Last year it seemed like former QB, Riley Hoffman was always under pressure so as noted, the offensive line, and their production will be a unit to keep an eye on, especially early in the season.
Workhorse, Peyton Nielson will be returning to the backfield this year, with two other backs, Xavier Marshall and Trevor Sprik working into the rotation.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Black Panthers need to improve in the points allowed category from last year.
With all the returning guys this year, I think they will dramatically improve. As long as they can limit the big plays, I believe they will do just fine.
