Wagner dusted up Milbank to advance to the semis at the state teener tourney

Bruguier delivers as Wagner advances at State Teener tourney
Aug 5, 2017

By Rich Winter

Talk about being ready to get out of the gate quickly....The Wagner teener team got to Milbank right away pounding out six runs in the first inning of the 16-under Class A state tournament in Beresford.

Tony Bruguier got the win on the mount, pitching just three innings while allowing just four hits, three runs (one of them earned) and striking out six batters. Not sure how the teener tournamnet works with pitch count and or number of innings pitched, but guessing Bruguier will have an opportunity to pitch again in this tournament.

On offense, Wagner just crushed the ball, especially hearly.

Bruguier, Malcom Janis and Tate Wynia all collected three hits while Janis, Preston Nedved, Chance Blaha and Brugier all drove in two runs.

Advancing to the championship portion of the bracket, Wagner will play West Central today at 5:30 p.m.
