Jamin Arend lit up Canton with 234 yards rushing

BEE picking up STEAM as playoffs approach - Arend RIPS Canton
Oct 1, 2017

Panic Button:

From the start of the season, I've thought the road to the 11B title goes through BEE. When Cole Gassmen went down in the Madison game, you could almost feel the air go out of the BEE baloon - Sort of. The media, the polls, the opponents...Everyone thought BEE would take a step back...Everyone but BEE.

While BEE dropped in the polls and Sioux Valley ascended to the top of what now looks like a very crowded 11B field, other people STEPPED UP!

From the get-go this season I've been looking back at that semi-final game last season between Winner & BEE. That Winner team was likely the best 11B team ever assembled, and BEE hung right with them for the first half. Really the only 11B in the team to hit Winner in the mouth after Winner hit them first.

Despite losing their leader, their best player (skill player) there is still an edge and a TUFFness about BEE.

A 34-7 win over Canton Friday suggests that BEE is really starting to play Seahawk football. Canton is a good football team, certainly a team that will make the playoffs, and a team that could win a first-round game in the 11B playoffs.

AND BEE DESTROYED THEM!

BEE VS Canton

Canton has an early score to go up 7-0 and BEE rips off 34-points in a row as Jeff Van Leur's squad improved to 5-1.

With Gassman out, junior Jamin Arend has stepped up and done so in a big way.

Arend vs. Canton

* 234 yards rushing - 18 carries and 3 TD's - (For you math majors out there, that is an astonishing 13 yards per carry)

Other Big Numbers:

* Carter Dye 13 tackles (This guy is a menace)

* Lucas Berg 10 tackles - 5-10 210 lb. fire hydrant with eyebrows

So many big, TUFF guys on this squad....it's getting interesting!

So is the schedule:

BEE is @ McCook Central Montrose who will drop out of the 11B top-5 after losing badly to No. 1 Sioux Valley.

And then, Sioux Valley @ BEE to close the season.

OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!
