Andes Central junior Sydney Muckey gets up for a block last season against Colome. C

ACDC looks legit at Hanson Early-Bird Classic
Aug 23, 2017

By Rich Winter

Well, well, well, looks like some THUNDER might be brewing just east of the Missouri River as Andes Central/Dakota Christian is chewing up the competition at the Hanson Early Bird Volleyball classic.

In yesterday's opening round, ACDC knocked off No. 5 rated Ethan.

Pretty workmanlike effort for ACDC as they won the matches by identical scores of 25-22 and 25-22.

In the semifinals of that tournament, AC/DC lost the first set of their game with Sanbord-Central/Woonsocket before looking impressive by winning sets two and three.

Set scores were 21-25, 25-19 and 25-20.

For the Thunder, Beulah Black Cloud had six kills and 19 digs along with one ace, while Megan Mudder had 32 digs and four kills. Tyra Medicine Horn added four kills and 17 digs and Taylor Gray finished with two aces and 20 assists.

Great start for coach Rocky Brinkman's crew as the Thunder were ready to square off with Hanson in today's finals.

Digging the makeup of this squad with three seniors, Beulah Black Cloud, Taylor Gray and Megan Mudder leading the charge.

6-foot-2 junior, Sidney Mucky and 5-11 freshman, Mackenzie Muckey gie this team some much needed size.

Great start for this squad and look for the Thunder to be very competitive in Region 6B play this season.
